Downswitch began playing in October 2006. Thomas (Guitars and backing vocals) and Dennis (Guitars) decided to make a side project prior to the other bands. The idea was to blend the different styles of metal. They asked Mads (Drums) to join and soon after, Michael (Bas) joined in. It quickly became their no 1 project and a bunch of songs and a demo single (Memorylane - 2006) was recorded in the home studio. One thing was missing, a lead singer - they wanted one, who fitted in their style of metal, which spans over various styles - so the search began for a singer that could, scream, growl and do clean as well. After 5 months with no singer, Sebastian (lead vocals) joined Downswitch as a full time member.
Sebastian laid down vocals to Memorylane. Downswitch also had new material and decided to record a 3 track demo (The plague in us all - 2007) in our home studio, to book some gigs. So they did. After touring awhile and writing new material, we had enough material to visit a studio to create an EP (Deprived human behaviour - 2007) That EP was used for promoting us to various medias and it was well received. Downswitch also made there first music video to the track "The plague in us all", from the EP Deprived human behaviour, it was all homemade. Downswitch got there first European tour (April 2008) 14 shows in 5 countries, and they made a quick video documentary about the tour.

A lot of things has happened in the Downswitch camp the last 6 month of 2008, Niels joined Downswitch as a stand-in on bass, as Michael no longer was a part of the band. Downswitch joined a Danish tour (Revolution music tour) with various other danish metal bands and while touring they where in the midst of writing their debut album and they where among the candidates to be nominated for the "best new metal talent" in the annual Danish metal awards shows. Promotion deals, Endorsements, sponsors, a record company, a new website and merchandise where added to the Downswitch camp late 2008 and that's where we are right now.
